I admit I’m fairly depressed. The NRA Annual Meeting 2014 was actually in Indianapolis, Indiana and I was only able to get there for one day. This means I need to plan a trip to Tennessee next year!
Even though I was only able to get there for a day I did meet some great people and ran into old friends. It was good to see Andy Langlois from http://www.andysleather.com/ and Fred Golgart with http://mpss.co/.
I did get a chance to talk to a lot of the people attending the show and, I’ve said it before but, gun people are more polite and friendly than the vast majority of other people out there. It’s always a pleasure to meet other people into shooting.
The absolute highlight of the show for me was when what looked like ALL of the women shooters from the Smith & Wesson Corp. shooting team came up to me to ask for directions! I don’t get stunned very easily but I was so stunned that I didn’t even think to ask for a picture.
If you made it there I hope you had a good time. If you just happened to be downtown Indianapolis this weekend, then it was probably the absolute safest time to be downtown.
Edited to add:
“The Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department on Sunday reported no troubles related to the convention.”
Can any other event have the same thing said about them?
